Senior Technician - Molding, Props & Hair
Deliver high-quality products across the Molding, Props, and Hair disciplines to a high creative and technical standard as well as mentor our less experienced crew.

Our roles
We're looking for two Senior Technicians, specialising across Molding, Props and Hair, to join us on a fixed term from 1 October through to December 2026.
These roles are responsible for delivering high-quality products across the Molding, Props, and Hair disciplines to a high creative and technical standard, and also help mentor our less experienced crew members.
Within the specialisations, they are responsible for:
Molding
Refining and expanding techniques across model making, molding, fibreglassing, casting, and finishing.
Guiding early-stage product approaches from a casting/molding perspective (applying strong knowledge of chemical classifications and safe working procedures) and critiquing products prior to delivery.
Hair
Carrying out advanced hair punching, knotting, laying, flocking and blending to achieve naturalistic density, direction, and realism.
Performing wig and hairpiece construction requiring strong technical precision.
Conducting fibre blending, dye tests, and adhesive refinements.
Props
Refining techniques and expand skill set across model making, prototyping and paint.
Advising on the best method of approaching props in the early stages, applying expert hand-crafting ability and applicable machinery licences or certificates.
Reviewing and critique props prior to delivery, and identify risks early with workable solutions.

We're looking for someone who brings 5+ years experience across molding, fibreglassing and casting, prop/model making and prototyping and hair work, in a creative manufacturing environment. You will also need the ability to read, interpret and execute from technical drawings and creative briefs, with strong time management and planning abilities.
An eye for detail, and an interest in evolving techniques are key to success in these roles.

These are fixed term roles, from 1 October 2026 to 23 December 2026.
They are full time (standard working week is 42.5 hours, Monday to Friday) and based on-site in Miramar, Wellington.
The pay range for these roles is $36.50 to $46.30. depending on experience.
